Monaco’s Constitution names the Roman Catholic Apostolic religion as the state religion, so Catholic identity and ceremony remain visible in public life. Financial-integrity reform and FATF monitoring
As of 19 June 2026, Monaco remained under increased monitoring by the Financial Action Task Force. FATF stated that Monaco had substantially completed its action plan and would receive an on-site assessment before a final decision. This marked substantial progress, but Monaco had not yet been removed from increased monitoring.
Monaco’s government describes the process as a coordinated effort involving public authorities, supervisory bodies, enforcement institutions and private-sector participants. FATF and MONEYVAL have also stressed the need for greater effectiveness in financial intelligence, investigations, prosecutions and asset recovery. The government’s statements explain the reforms it has undertaken; the external assessments consider whether those systems are working effectively.
Prayer significance: Pray that the reforms would be applied consistently and honestly, that financial crime would be restrained, that enforcement would be fair and effective, and that ordinary residents and workers would not be blamed for institutional failings.
